In many countries the population of homeless has been increasing, which requires especial attention from authorities and government. Many factors contribute to the condition of homelessness such as: economic, family breakdown and substance abuse issues. As a result, the interventions might be vast, which may bring different approaches and methodologies to decrease the population of homeless people in the streets, and also empowering them to have a new perspective of life. There are two approaches of homelessness, which took my attention. The first one is the Oasis Book Club that takes place in Boston. This is a group of volunteers that created a small group of people to read and discuss books that are chosen by them. It brings a positive return. As Tobin said in the article on WBUR news (2010): Small groups where they are listened to, where their voice is heard, where they are heard, reinforce that sense of self-worth and value. And thats whats at the core of the book club. Once invisible and discriminated against, now known and valued for who they are. It brings an interesting experience for those who do not feel part of the society. Even though the approached do not come up with an effective intervention to change their reality, by offering them a shelter as a regular tool that is commonly used by professionals of the field, it influenced them to have a sense of belonging and dignity. An NPR article also highlights Whats so important about the club, is that its members finally feel like someone cares what they think (Tobin, 2010). Therefore, it also makes them have critical thoughts, sometimes might bring them back to life and also change their lives. It happened with one of their members, and the group was one of the reasons that made him change his life. The second project is Housing First that takes place in Utah. They have an idea of taking people that have been living on the streets for months or years, and giving them a house. They believe that giving a home first is more effective than carrying them to shelters. Even though the reason is to try to be less expensive for the state. Those approaches seem to be effective even though they are different from the regular approaches already known by society. Beyond the reality of their condition, it shows others alternatives to give them a sense of belonging and a value that may go beyond their reality. In addition, it can be a good tool for helpers who work with the homeless. Is important that a helper be aware of his or her role in dealing with the homeless. Novel interventions can be helpful, even if these interventions have not been seen by the helper before. Beyond this fact, it is necessary for the helper to learn about the homeless persons reality, which they are set in. If the helper does not understand this process, according to Corey and Corey (2016): You might lose certain clients if you do not demonstrate an understanding of how their culture affects their choices and actions (p.73). In every area of approach Corey and Corey (2016) say: We must embrace our clients worldview and understand their value system to be help to them and to be agents of change and empowerment. Even if we hold a very different set of values, our ethical obligation is to assist clients in meeting therapeutic goals () (p.73). In conclusion, according to what we are reading and listening to in class, regardless of the field that helpers work in, they need to know that sometimes they are going to be a voice for those that do not have a voice to advocate for themselves, and somehow making a positive difference in someones daily life. He uses nature as a background metaphor in which he usually begins a poem with an observation of something in nature and then moves towards a connection to some human situation. Does Life Exist Elsewhere in the Cosmos

The search for life on other worlds has consumed our imaginations for decades. Humans feed on a constant supply of science fiction stories and movies such as  Star Wars, Star Trek, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, which all cheerfully suggest that they are out there. People find aliens and the possibility of alien life are fascinating topics and wondering if aliens have walked among us is a popular pastime. But, do they really exist out there? Its a good question. How the Search for Life Is Done These days, using advanced technology, scientists may be on the verge of discovering places where life not only exists but may well be thriving. Worlds with life on them may be all over the  Milky Way Galaxy. They could also be in our own solar system, in places that arent exactly like the life-friendly habitats that exist here on Earth. Its not just a search about life, however. Its also about finding places that are hospitable to life in all its many forms. Those forms may be like the life that exists on Earth, or they could be very different. Understanding the conditions in the galaxy that enable the chemicals of life to assemble together in just the right way.   Astronomers have found more than 5,000 exoplanets in the galaxy. These are worlds circling other stars. There are many more candidate worlds to be studied. How do they find them? Space-based telescopes such as the Kepler Space Telescope look for them using specialized instruments. Ground-based observers also look for extrasolar planets using very sensitive instruments attached to some of the worlds largest telescopes.   Once they find worlds, the next step for scientists is to figure out if they are habitable. That means, astronomers ask the question: can this planet support life? On some, conditions for life could be quite good. Some worlds, however, orbit too close to their star, or too far away. The best chances for finding life lie in the so-called habitable zones. These are regions around the parent star where liquid water, which is necessary for life, could exist. Of course, there are many other scientific questions to be answered in the search for life.   How Life is Made Before scientists can understand if life exists on a planet, its important to know how life arises.  One major sticking point in discussions of life elsewhere is the question of how it gets started. Scientists can manufacture cells in a laboratory, so how hard could it really be for life to spring up under the right conditions? The problem is that they are not actually building them from the raw materials. They take already living cells and replicate them. Thats not the same thing at all. There are a couple of facts to remember about creating life on a planet: Its NOT simple to do.  Even if biologists had all the right components, and could put them together under ideal conditions, we cant yet make even one living cell from scratch. It may very well be possible someday, but not now.Scientists dont really know how the first living cells formed. Sure they have some ideas, but no one has replicated the process in a lab.   What they do know are the basic chemical building blocks of life. The elements that formed life on our planet existed in the primordial cloud of gas and dust from which the Sun and planets arose. That would include the carbons, hydrocarbons, molecules, and other pieces and parts that make up life. The next big question is how it all came together on early Earth to form the first one-celled life forms. Theres not a complete answer to that one, yet. Scientists know conditions on early Earth were conducive to life: the right mix of elements was there. It was just a matter of time and mixing before the earliest one-celled animals came about. But, what was it that spurred all the right things in the right place to form life? Still unanswered. Yet, life on Earth — from the microbes to the humans and plants — is living proof that it is possible for life to form. So, if it happened here, it could happen elsewhere, right? In the vastness of the galaxy, there ​should exist another world with conditions for life to exist and upon that tiny orb life would have sprung up. Right? Probably. But no one knows for sure yet. How Rare is Life in our Galaxy? Given that the galaxy (and universe) for that matter, is rich with the basic elements that went into creating life, its very likely that yes, there are planets with life on them. Sure, some birth clouds are going to have slightly different mixes of elements, but in the main, if were looking for carbon-based life, theres a good chance its out there. Science fiction likes to talk about silicon-based life, and other forms not familiar to humans. Nothing rules that out. But, theres no convincing data showing the existence of any life out there. Not yet. Attempting to estimate the number of life forms in our galaxy is a bit like guessing the number of words in a book, without being told which book. Since there is a large disparity between, for instance, Goodnight Moon and Ulysses, it is safe to say that the person doing the guessing doesnt have enough information. That may seem a bit depressing, and its not the answer everybody wants. After all, humans LOVE science fiction universes where other life forms are teeming out there. Chances are, there is life out there. But, just not enough proof. And, that raises the question, if there IS life, how much of it is part of an advanced civilization? Thats important to think about because life could be as simple as a microbial population in an alien sea, or it could be a full-blown space-faring civilization. Or somewhere in between.   However, that doesnt mean there isnt any. And, scientists have devised thought experiments to figure out how many worlds might have life in the galaxy. Or the universe. From those experiments, theyve come up with a mathematical expression to give an idea about how rare (or not) other civilizations may be. Its called the Drake Equation and looks like this: N R*  Ã‚ · fp  · ne  Ã‚ ·fl  Ã‚ ·fi    · fc  Ã‚ · L. where N is the number you get if you multiply the following factors together: the average rate of star formation, the fraction of stars that have planets, the average number of planets that can support life, the fraction of those worlds that actually develop life, the fraction of those that have intelligent life, the fraction of civilizations that have communications technologies to make their presence known, and the length of time that theyve been releasing them.   Scientists plug numbers in for all these variables and come up with different answers depending on what numbers are used. It turns out there could be just ONE planet (ours) with life, or there could be tens of thousands of possible civilizations out there.   We Just Dont Know — Yet! So, where does this leave humans with an interest in life elsewhere? With a very simple, yet unsatisfying conclusion. Could life exist elsewhere in our galaxy? Absolutely. Are scientists certain of it? Not even close. Unfortunately, until humanity actually makes contact with a people not of this world, or at least begin to fully understand how life came to exist on this tiny blue rock, the questions about life elsewhere arent going to be answered. Its most likely that scientists will find evidence of life in our own solar system first, beyond Earth. But, that search requires more missions to other places, such as Mars, Europa, and Enceladus. Ratio analysis had been used in the case study as it provides information and depicts the financial position of DIPL for the year ending 30th June 2015. It is necessary for the auditor to evaluate the financial health of DIPL after identifying favorable and unfavorable changes by using ratio analysis as a point of reference. It is important for an auditor to compare ratios for three consecutive years and then interpret the information for evaluating the capacity of business to find out whether business can meet short-term or long-term obligations. As far as profitability ratio is concerned, DIPL had not at all improved in terms of profitability for the year 2015. The company had seen decline in their profits that give rise to going concern issues faced by the company (Eilifsen et al.2013). As far as liquidity ratio is concerned, DIPL had shown improvement in terms of liquidity for the year 2015. DIPL faces increased financial risk over the three consecutive years. It is all about the disclosures that are related to risk and need proper information mentioned in the reports (Crockett and Ali 2015)As far as efficiency ratio is concerned, DIPL has not improved in terms of efficiency. The company engages in proper writing back allowances for any loss that prevails in their stocks. It is important to check over the inventory performance allowance for such validity of actions (Junior, Best and Cotter 2014). Classification of inherent risk factors based on nature of business operations of DIPL Double Ink Printers Limited Risk Material misstatement in the financial statement Financial risk The risk that takes place within a business when the company could not pay off their long-term liabilities within the stipulated time frame (Knechel and Salterio 2016) DIPL was involved in manipulating their financial records in order to maintain current ratio and debt to equity ratio as desired by the lending company. For this reason, DIPL should inflate their current assets by increasing values of receivables or inventory so that current assets are properly maintained and the company can pay off day-to-day expenses. It is also necessary for the company to inflate the equity valuation through increased value of retained earnings so that the company can maintain agreed debt to equity ratio in the near future (Lenz and Hahn 2015). Information technological risk The risk that takes place when any business decides to implement information technology. This decision can even have negative impact if there is deficiency in the informational technology control at any point of time (Louwers et al. 2015). DIPL could not balance between new accounting system and existing accounting software. This led to issues that relates with improper recording of transactions within stipulated time frame. The company failed to follow accounting concept of periodicity as that had adversely affected the company such as getting access to inaccurate results and unfavorable profitability position. As well (Rahim and Idowu 2015). Identification of key risk factors that relates to misstatement of financial reporting Risk factors Material misstatement in the financial reporting Debt covenants DIPL faced several risk while operating the business such as debt covenants. Finance Department of DIPL was in huge pressure as they had to find ways where the company can meet various debt covenants. A loan of 7.5 million had been taken by DIPL from BDO Finance Limited in the year 2015 on main two conditions. If DIPL failed to cover any of the conditions, then the loan will be taken back by BDO Finance Limited. In order to maintain current ratio, DIPL had inflated the current assets. The company had even manipulated with retained earnings figures that are not acceptable any time. Nature of control environment DIPL had faced several risks while operating the business such as nature of control environment. This risk factor directly link to the fact that there are some fraudulent activities practices in the financial statement of DIPL. This can be poor defined job description or poor segregation of work among the staff members. The company even manipulates with the stock figures by showing less stock at the time of cash arrival. Overall, there is improper system used by the company and efforts need to be made to mitigate the fraudulent activities as far as possible. Effect of risk factors on audit conduct Effect of debt covenants on audit plan- In order to meet the debt covenants, DIPL should balance their current assets and current liabilities. They need to decide whether there is any inflation present in current assets or deflation present in current liabilities. It is important for the company to involve in careful verification of retained earnings. Effect of control environment on audit plan- In order to have a control over the environment, DIPL should keep a balance of stock so that there is no excess or shortage of it as both are not favorable condition. It is important that the quantity of orders placed for the stock purchase and stock received should match. The company should not engage in any of the manipulation activities as that will worsen the overall environmental factors of business enterprise.
